The Story Behind Spookidex

Welcome to Spookidex, my little corner of the Pokémon world — where the cards are collectible, the vibes are spooky, and the shelves are always just a bit haunted.

If you're here, you're probably a fan of Pokémon, or ghosts, or maybe both. Either way, you’re in good company.

My name’s Brooke, and I’ve been in love with Pokémon for as long as I can remember.

As a kid, Me and my brother used to carry around ziplock bags filled with cards — some real, some definitely fake, all treasured. I didn’t care much about their value back then. I just loved the art, the sparkle, and the stories they seemed to tell.

In 2020, I got back into collecting, and it hit me hard. Like, really hard.

I was supposed to be “just buying a few packs,” but suddenly I was back in it — chasing holos, trading with friends, organizing by type, admiring the little ghosties and ghouls hiding in the shadows of each set

 

I’ve always been an artist at heart. Drawing, painting, creating — that’s my therapy. Pokémon cards have always felt like tiny art galleries to me. The styles, the poses, the atmosphere — it’s magic.

But nothing grabbed me quite like the ghost types.

There’s just something about Gengar’s grin or Mimikyu’s loneliness that feels so personal. Ghost Pokémon have that perfect mix of spooky and sweet, and they’ve become a huge part of my identity — not just in collecting, but in how I express myself creatively.

 

Why I Created Spookidex

I started Spookidex because I wanted to build something that combined all the things I love:

Pokémon cards (obviously)

Spooky aesthetics

Storytelling and collecting

And community — the kind that gets it

 

I wanted a space where collectors and fans could come not just to buy cards, but to feel something — whether that’s nostalgia, inspiration, or just a little shiver up your spine.

This store is 100% run by me — from sourcing cards to designing content and packaging orders with care (and maybe a ghost sticker or two).

 

Right now, I’m keeping it simple:

Hand-picked single cards

Cool sleeves and accessories

And soon: a few mystery packs and limited spooky drops

 

But more than that, I hope Spookidex becomes a place for stories, art, and weird little Pokémon-loving misfits like me.

Whether you’re a serious TCG player, a binder collector, or just someone who still remembers their first holo, I’m glad you’re here.
